Happy Thanksgiving! I can’t believe this year has flown by so quickly. Jordan and I came home to see our families for the holiday. Its such a nice break from the constant busyness. Yesterday evening I had just finished up the dessert I was baking and looked outside to see the most amazing golden light and it was so warm out I couldn’t resist. My mom was cooking, my sister was at work, and my husband, brother, father, and cousins were all whittling and working on a building project… so I decided to have a photo shoot with myself. I still feel awkward sometimes being in front of the camera, like I have some kind of narcissistic obsession, but its also cathartic to be by yourself with just a camera. There have been so many ups and downs in my life over the past few weeks that it was nice to just spend some time alone. I have been thinking about diving into more narrative photography over the past couple months and I am quite pleased with this set because I feel like they are starting to go down that road.
I’m off to make macaroni and cheese and enjoy my family! Ah, Thanksgiving is my favorite. I hope you all have a wonderful day.
