My husband, Jordan, and I packed our bags and headed for the coast a couple weeks ago. A photography workshop lead us to Charleston (I'll be sharing those photos later) and we decided to spend a few extra days there. It was so nice to get away and enjoy the beach and wander the historic streets of Charleston. I ate shrimp and hush puppies for dinner four nights in a row and I thought I had died and gone to heaven. We hit up Rainbow Row, The Battery, a great breakfast spot called Toast, Folly Beach, The Old Exchange and Dungeon, the market, and got to stay in the neatest historic home thanks to Airbnb. Jordan visited the USS Yorktown while I was at my workshop and snapped some killer photos there. The first night there was our favorite meal at Fleet Landing and the best company from my cousin and her sweet family - her girls tried to scare us with stories of "the dungeon". I often struggle in my personal life to balance documenting our life and events while still staying present in the moment. I didn't take a ton of photos but I wanted to share some of my favorites. Let's all give a nice slow-clap to Jordan for putting up with my antics and enduring some photos. We stopped by Asheville, NC for a night on our way home and took a tour of the incredible Biltmore Estate. I'll be sharing those photos soon too.
