Stephanie + Jason are hands down the most laid back couple I've ever worked with; that's really saying a lot because all of my clients are so easy going. Stephanie called me up to photograph their wedding so casually, "let us know any Friday you might be free in October and we'll head to the courthouse." So chill. It was truly a celebration of the two of them becoming husband and wife without some of the frills and details that can sometimes be distracting. I met up with them outside the courtroom doors of the Louisville Hall of Justice with a handful of their closest friends and family huddled around them. We were ushered into the courtroom and greeted with the sweetest judge you could possibly imagine. Stephanie + Jason exchanged vows and the rings they had picked out and started their marriage with a kiss in front of strangers and loved ones. After they tied the knot we explored the nooks and alleyways of downtown Louisville to make some bridal portraits of them to keep forever.
Amanda + Charley's wedding was truly one of a kind.
Amanda + Charley met ten years ago at a youth camp and despite the different journeys they went on - different schools, different friends, and even different continents - they always came back to each other.
Their day was everything you could dream that your wedding would be. It was relaxed, intimate, and filled with endless love from their closest friends and family. Not to mention they exchanged their handwritten vows on a hillside overlooking the Tuscan countryside at sunset. Amanda wore her mother's wedding dress and Charley wore his father's vintage watch. They each have a single brother that they are very close to so it couldn't have been more fitting for their brothers to team up to officiate the ceremony. Great care and thought was infused into their entire wedding weekend from beginning to end.
My absolute favorite part of their day was sitting around the dinner table engaging in deep conversations over multiple courses of indescribable Italian cooking. Each guests took a turn sharing a memory or blessing for the couple and then Amanda + Charley each went around and told a story or heartfelt wish for every single guest. It was so amazingly beautiful and precious. I know they, and each one of their guests, will hold it in their heart forever.
